How We Began

    In 2005, when Yosemite High’s state-of-the-art, competitive swimming pool was

completed, Oakhurst and the local mountain communities realized a dream come true.

Thanks to the commitment of a host of community volunteers, the generosity of Mr. Harry

Baker, and the vision of Yosemite High School, we all can now enjoy one of the most beautiful,

pristine swimming facilities in the Sierra Foothills. But that was just the beginning.

    With the dedication of area families, Yosemite Swim Club, a USA Sanctioned Swim

Team, was formed within months of its opening. That meant that local residents like you can

join in competitive swimming designed for all ages under the guidelines of this prestigious

nationwide organization.

    Yosemite Swim Club offers swimming at all competitive levels; age group ABC level swim

meets, regional winter and summer Junior Olympics, and senior level swim meets for those

swimmers with qualifying times. Our coaching staff and board of directors are committed to

helping you or your child fulfill your swimming dreams, whether that’s simply becoming a

confident swimmer or an Olympic gold-medalist.

    Whether you’re just a tadpole or an Olympic hopeful, our goal is to provide access,

opportunity, and instruction to help you become the swimmer that you want to be. We believe

that a commitment to swimming is a commitment to life. We want to encourage you to pursue

a healthy lifestyle and strong work ethic because that will not only make you a better swimmer

but will provide you with tools for life.
